Austin Vibrancy and Texas Beauty Charm as Two Become One | Amy + Brendan

The multi-leveled sprawl of the Hotel Magdalena, nestled within the culture and bustle of South Congress, was the perfect place for Amy and Brendan to celebrate their union.

A Party to Remember

Amy and Brendan told us all about the many joys of their wedding day. The theme was a modern and fun garden party enhanced by their wedding planner Valerie Strenk’s concept of “al fresco grazing.” Amy was excited about the dancing, and Brendan was looking forward to the food. “I think it’s safe to say we both won,” Valerie admitted. Menu highlights included oysters with chili oil, empanadas, and tacos!

All the Little Moments

“…seeing so many friends and family in one space all at the same time is a rush of energy I’ll never forget.”

As I see so often lately, Amy and Brendan were thrilled to reunite with friends and family that they hadn’t seen in a while. It was important to both that the vibe was not too formal or traditional and more focused on the energy and joy of everyone celebrating together. Having everyone in one place was amazing, but the couple’s highlight was seeing each other for the first time as Amy walked down the aisle. “So many emotions running at once was pure magic.”

When It Comes to Planning

Amy and Brendan were kind enough to share the wedding planning advice they got  from their family. A cousin suggested choosing five specific moments to really savor and experience so that the shared memories would endure. Amy’s sister-in-law told them to stick together during the wedding–no matter what! Otherwise, couples get split up and taken in different directions by excited friends and family. It was important for the couple to experience all of the magic of their wedding together.
