Multicultural American Indian Wedding at Brodie Homestead in Sunset Valley, Texas | Neethi + Nick

Neethi and Nick’s wedding was an intercultural celebration with not one but two intimate ceremonies weaving in their different backgrounds. One was an American style civil ceremony at the gorgeous Chapel Dulcinea, and the next day was a traditional Vedic ceremony at the jaw-dropping Brodie Homestead.

In crafting a multicultural wedding that felt right for them, this couple took a lot of liberties in eliminating some of the “usual” wedding traditions like cake cutting, bouquet toss, and a bridal party. The result was something elegant and beautiful — a celebration that felt purely “them”.

Last Minute Pivots

Neethi and Nick ran into a “hiccup”, in Neethi’s words, when Nick’s parents got caught in a snowstorm and couldn’t make it to the civil ceremony day at Chapel Dulcinea! Nick’s dad was supposed to officiate, but Nick’s best man, Gustavo, got ordained the night before and completely wowed the crowd with his skills. Way to step up!

One of the best moments from this day was when Nick and Neethi got to ring the chapel bell as a married couple – these ended up being some of my favorite photos of the wedding! After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a delicious feast at Trattoria Lisina.

A Vedic Ceremony at Brodie Homestead

Brodie Homestead offered the perfect blend of drama and beauty for the backdrop of this traditional Vedic ceremony. Neethi wore her mom’s wedding Sari and wedding jewelry to honor her Indian heritage and keep generational continuity.

After the ceremony, they hosted a feast right there in Brodie Homestead, under the vast vaulted ceiling. There were musical and dance performances from different members of the family, and the whole evening radiated joy.
