Moments outside of Austin, there sits a gorgeous ranch surrounded by Lake Travis and its natural splendor. Set on five gated acres, Hudson Bend Ranch is a jewel among the Texas Hill Country and an unforgettable location to get married at. Though Erin and Luke were separated by thousands of miles, over one blissful weekend they met here with their families to have a joyful reunion, commit their lives to one another, and start their journey anew.

A Weekend Together

Erin and Luke were blown away by the Hudson Bend Ranch and all it had to offer (special shout-out to owner Steven Ray who helped make their stay there extra special). The couple chose to let the ranch’s beauty speak for itself and reveled in the spacious and sprawling Texas Hill Country with their families close by. As neither groom nor bride is from the same country, Hudson Ranch was a sanctuary away from the rest of the world where the two families could join and spend a weekend getting to know each other.

After Time Apart

The build-up to the wedding weekend was especially difficult as Luke and Erin had been separated for nearly three months by that point. While Erin had returned to the US, Luke remained in Northern Ireland to work and maintain the house. As a result, they took advantage of every moment spent together during their joyful reunion at the ranch. Together, they enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, buzzing cicadas, and twinkling fairy lights that decorated the area. As far as this pair was concerned, everything about their day was perfect and ensured that it would be one to remember forever.

“After the wedding, it would be another two months before we would be reunited so we really lived in the moment and made every second count.”

A Joyful Reunion to Last Forever

Erin and Luke made things extra special by sharing a moment and special gifts with each other to commemorate the day. Erin told us how much she enjoyed waking up on the day of, setting out decorations, and preparing to marry her best friend–and a shared tequila shot with her sister was another quick highlight! Her sister also helped plan and organize. Erin offered this suggestion for how to make your day a little extra special while saving some money: buy undyed wooden flowers and dye them yourselves. Wooden flowers provide a timeless look that doesn’t decay and perfectly preserves the memory of the day.

Ultimately, this day was everything that Erin and Luke had dreamed and more!
