Austin, Texas is a really special city full of memorable and incredible locations–just ask anyone who has ever lived or visited there! Grace and Mark were brought together by Austin’s connecting influence through a surprising encounter, and their time here has become an important part of who they are as a couple. Their engagement shoot featured revisiting memories in some important locations as they reflected on their relationship to date and the path that is set before them.

A Chance Encounter

Their story actually begins in a place quite far from Austin: Ohio. Mark attended Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree, unaware that friendships he was making would one day lead to a beautiful relationship. Some time later, he found himself in Austin, and was surprised to bump into an old friend from Ohio State who had also moved to the city. His former classmate Hannah introduced him to her housemate, and so started a new journey for Mark and Grace.

Revisiting Fond Memories

Since Austin has been such an important part of the relationship shared by this couple, it seemed only right that it played a role in their engagement. Both the proposal and the engagement shoot featured a visit to some of their favorite locations in the city, including the Central Machine Works Brewery and Launderette, a charming diner with a memorable sign featured in their photoset. Eventually, they found their way to Chicano Park where Mark was ready to pop the big question!

Their nostalgic journey through East Austin was also an opportunity to listen to the song that will play when Grace walks down the aisle: “Your Hand in Mine” by Explosions in the Sky. There are so many special aspects of their relationship, and they both value the ways in which they push each other to grow physically and spiritually. Every day is a new adventure for the pair, and each is looking forward to every step along the way.

Grace and Mark have so much life ahead of them, but they know each new day will be an adventure, and that the moments they face will be done so hand-in-hand with the one who supports them most.
