A Personal Ode to Marriage
What did I love most about this shoot? Amy and Daniel’s dedication to making their special day not just special for everyone else, but special for them as individuals and as a couple. They admitted that they aren’t traditional wedding advocates, and instead decided to focus on creating a day that would be their, “own personal ode to marriage.” They had so many great ideas for making this wedding unique, from walking down the aisle together to wearing snazzy and stylish outfits, they knew they wanted this experience to feel amazing and memorable.
Making Memories New and Old
I was really excited to photograph this couple at their stunning venue. Amy and Daniel decided to host their wedding at the Jester King Brewery, a beautiful ranch in the Texas Hill Country that also features a kitchen, farm, and event hall on 165 acres. They decided that Jester King was the perfect place to give their guests a taste of all that the wild beauty of Texas has to offer as well as create a living memory that they and their families could cherish. One of their favorite parts? Jester King’s own local goat herd stopped by to liven up the festivities and create some incredible and unique photo opportunities. Amy and Daniel are so excited to keep making memories at this vibrant brewery as they begin their life together.
What Matters Most
The couple learned a lot from their wedding, and they had this to offer about the planning experience:
“While the tiniest details consume your thoughts during the months (or years) of event planning, on the day, it’s the people that matter most. In the whirlwind of the day, anchor yourself in seeking out special moments with your guests. Just let go of all the rest.”
It’s clear that Amy and Daniel’s wedding day will be a beautiful, warm, and loving memory for them and their guests in the years to come.
